Digital Empowerment of Women Entrepreneurs in North Karnataka: Exploring the Role of Adoption Challenges, Digital Competencies, and Personal Barriers

Economic growth of the nation will be asymmetrical without the involvement of women entrepreneurial activities. Digital platforms provide opportunities like wider market, better networking, and greater access to technology, skilled manpower, effective governance, and financial opportunities. The challenges that women face in establishing and running a business, with a particular focus on access to, and adoption of, digital platforms. In this research, we aim to analyze the role that, digital technologies play in entrepreneurial ecosystems, the gender perspective in north Karnataka, and south part of India. The results show that women entrepreneurs can and have been empowered by using digital platforms and technologies, but they also face many obstacles and challenges, such as a lack of digital competencies, limited access to digital devices, infrastructure, and training, reliance on family members and support staff, and worries about work-life balance, safety, and security.
