This chapter does three things. First, it justifies the existence of the book and briefly indicates the way my approach differs from others engaged in Fregean exegesis. Second, it provides an overview of key texts for the topic at hand, and how they fit within Frege’s oeuvres. And third, it provides a chapter-by-chapter summary to help the reader get a broad scale idea of what these pages contain.
