A tool was developed for the metallographic analysis of interstitial-free (IF) steels, using image processing and pattern recognition, which is a system focused on helping users to calculate the size and percentage of grain in these metals. This work arises to satisfy a need found in the different units that work with alloys of this type, since it is in these areas where this type of analysis becomes fundamental to relate the microstructure with its properties and thus be able to predict its mechanical behaviour.
