The Metaverse, Digital Identity, and Artificial Intelligence: Ethical Matrix for Algorithmic Sustainability

Humanity is facing an unprecedented convergence of Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Virtual Reality, Extended Reality, the Metaverse, and Smart Cities. This article offers an interdisciplinary perspective on the legal boundaries, technological opportunities and challenges, and regulatory mechanisms necessary to ensure algorithmic sustainability within the Metaverse. It addresses critical issues related to privacy, security, digital governance, and state sovereignty, with particular emphasis on the role of digital identity and artificial intelligence in shaping new forms of citizenship and governance. The analysis is structured around two key questions and concludes with an ethical, action-oriented framework for future implementation.
