Structural Analysis of Pristine and Tb-doped Chromium Oxide Nanopowders Prepared by Solution Combustion
摘要
In this work, the pristine and Tb-doped Cr2O3 were synthesized by solution combustion method at 500 °C followed by annealing at 700 °C. The samples were subjected to different characterization studies such as XRD, UV-Vis-NIR spectroscopy, XPS, and FT-IR analyses. The powder diffraction patterns revealed that the materials belong to rhombohedral crystal system. The average crystallites size of the nanocrystals was calculated by using Scherrers’ formula and by Williamson-Hall Plot. The optical absorption and band gap energy of the materials were estimated by using UV-Vis-NIR spectra. The elemental composition and chemical states of the compound were carried out by using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The FT-IR spectroscopic studies were used to analyse the functional groups present in the materials.
