Significant changes in healthcare were brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly in the areas of mental health and chronic disease management. Many experienced financial difficulty, stress, anxiety, and depression. By providing real-time insights, individualized care, and predictive tools to solve these problems, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) enhanced telemedicine. According to a 1,200-person poll, age and workplace culture have a big impact on mental health. This study examines the function of AI and ML during the pandemic and focuses on creating stress prediction and prevention tools utilizing Decision Support Systems (DSS). It emphasizes their uses, difficulties, and potential in healthcare, particularly in the area of mental health, demonstrating how telemedicine and AI and ML may successfully address pandemic issues. This chapter examines how AI & ML, when combined with telemedicine, addressed the specific challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
