Artificial Intelligence (AI) is changing the legal system quickly and dramatically by providing new tools that have a big influence on how decisions are made in the legal system. This chapter explores the diverse uses, advantages, and related difficulties of artificial intelligence in the legal field. Predictive analytics, which uses historical data to predict case outcomes, legal research and document review, which use sophisticated natural language processing to speed up information retrieval, and automated contract analysis, which improves accuracy and efficiency in contract management, are some of the key applications of artificial intelligence. These developments lead to increased effectiveness and better access to the legal system, especially for marginalised groups. But the use of AI also brings up important questions about justice, prejudice, and openness. Because AI systems are taught on past data, they could unintentionally reinforce pre-existing prejudices, therefore close supervision is necessary to guarantee fair results. Furthermore, it's critical to combine human judgement with AI-driven insights and take ethical issues like data security and privacy into account. In order to solve these issues and fully utilise AI's potential to uphold rather than undermine the concepts of justice, this chapter emphasises the necessity of continued collaboration between legal experts, engineers, and politicians. This chapter offers an extensive assessment of the existing situation and potential paths for incorporating AI into the legal system by examining both the revolutionary advantages and the inherent hazards of using AI in legal decision-making.

摘要
