The Impact of Artificial Intelligence Applications on Banking Operations: A Case Study on the Bank (HSBC) British for the Period (2016–2022)

In this study, the focus will be on HSBC Bank (UK) the strategic implications of AI application affecting banking services, looking at 2016–2022 timeline. The study looks at how AI has been incorporated into different aspects of banking, such as fraud detection, customer service, and operational productivity, and how these uses have resulted in marked improvements across each of these functions. An analysis of data shows prominent increases in profit, sales, and operating performance after installing AI systems, especially after 2017. Although the COVID-19 pandemic and other market dynamics presented stiff challenges, the bank’s financial performance was stable, illustrating the ability of AI as a force to make the systems resilient and be able to adapt. The authors also review the ethical and regulatory implications of AI roll-out within the banking context, focusing on concerns such as data privacy, AI bias and compliance with new regulations. The study also supplied most of the theoretical underpinning to comprehend how AI is modifying banking operations as well as strategies to leverage on to obviate the challenges of adoption. The results indicate that AI is an essential technology that would help efficiency, lower human errors and increase customer satisfaction in the banking sector. This article offers innovative ideas for banks utilizing AI to streamline their processes and address the challenges of making AI compatible in financial services.
