Flexural Behavior of Reinforced Concrete Slabs with Cut-Out Openings Strengthened with NSM-FRP Bars
摘要
This paper presents experimental findings on the flexural behavior of reinforced concrete (RC) one-way slabs with cut-out openings, strengthened using near-surface mounted fiber-reinforced polymer (NSM-FRP) bars. The study investigated key variables, including the NSM bar material (glass FRP and basalt FRP) and the number of cut-out openings (one and two). Results demonstrated significant improvements in ultimate capacity for NSM-strengthened slabs, with increases up to 101% over unstrengthened counterparts with openings. These gains were influenced by the NSM-FRP strengthening technique, with NSM-strengthened slabs exhibiting a greater ductility than a control slab without openings. Additionally, basalt FRP-NSM bars performed comparably to glass FRP-NSM bars, and the presence of additional openings had only a minor effect on the ultimate capacity of the slabs.
