The Botanical Grotesque: Interspecies Care, Power, and Vegetal Mythologies in Contemporary Scandinavian Art
摘要
This text examines the emergence of the botanical grotesque in contemporary art, where plants appear exaggerated, distorted, and displaced from their natural environments. Balancing humor, absurdity, and tragedy, these works foreground vegetal precarity and vulnerability while exposing structures of care, control, and power that shape human–plant relations.
