Virtual Reality, Large Language Models, and Chatbots in Surgical Education and Training
摘要
Integrating virtual reality, simulation-based training, chatbots, and large language models (LLMs) is revolutionizing surgical education and practice. These advanced technologies bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical skills, offering immersive, risk-free environments for skill development and decision-making. Virtual reality and simulation-based training provide realistic scenarios to enhance technical and nontechnical skills, improve patient safety, and reduce surgical errors. Chatbots and LLMs optimize educational methodologies, support clinical decision-making, and streamline workflows, making surgical education more accessible and effective. Despite their transformative potential, challenges such as cost, accessibility, privacy concerns, and the need for ethical oversight remain. This chapter explores the current landscape of these technologies, highlighting their applications, benefits, limitations, and future directions in surgical education and practice. By addressing these challenges, the healthcare field can fully leverage these tools to improve training outcomes, patient care, and overall efficiency.
