The potential of robotic surgery has also allowed its application in acute care surgery, addressing common conditions such as acute cholecystitis and acute diverticulitis. With the introduction of several new robotic platforms on the market, there has been a growing number of reports on the adoption of robotics in emergency cases. This chapter aims to provide an overview of the current applications of surgical robotics and automation technologies in acute care and emergency surgery.
