Motor Defects and Deficits
摘要
Analysis of motor aspects of palsy is conducted on three different levels: on the first one the repertoire of motor modules, analysed from both quantitative and qualitative aspects, their presence/absence and possible activation, availability for mutual combination and competitive interaction, organisational influence on gesture production and on posture control, functional and purposeful use and internal vs external evocability; on the second level praxis, a hidden problem of CP that justifies clumsiness and awkwardness; on the third level actions, understood as cognitively organised movements to achieve a specific goal. The ability to act depends not only on the child’s motivation to do something and on the opportunities present in the environment (affordances understood as clues, suggestions, models, chances for action). Still, it is influenced by the ability to anticipate expected results as well as by the use of adequate motor synergies and effective strategies. On the contrary, CP is conditioned by the stereotypy of adopted solutions. Loss of pleasure in movement produced by palsy can justify the absence of motor initiative (laziness, delegation, renunciation) even towards achievable results. Besides the competence of the action in achieving expected results, contextuality or adherence to the social environment, and consonance, understood as the image of Self that one wants to show to others, are considered.
