In this chapter we use diverse methods for processing terms found in publication abstracts. Methods range from simple statistical analysis of terminology to network analysis methods. From the general set of terms (3,361), six groups of terms containing 423 terms are selected related to different areas of Parkinson’s disease research. Terms were grouped in the following directions: biochemistry-cell-genetics (BCG), pharmacology (medicines), symptoms, central nervous system (CNS), diagnosis (various forms of PD), and clinical research methods (instrumental, laboratory, and other forms of patient examination). The frequency of term occurrence in the abstracts of publications has been calculated for each year and for the entire period. Then we group the terms into pairs and triples and analyze these combinations both in the general set of terms and separately by research direction. Additionally, the occurrence of pairs and triples in different research areas and during different time periods has been investigated. An analysis of the centrality of publications assigned to research directions is performed based on the terms whole set of each research direction. Clustering of the article citation graph has identified homogeneous publications (communities). For these communities, an analysis of terms occurring in articles is carried out.

摘要
