As data ecosystems grow more complicated, the demand for intelligent and responsive data architecture is more urgent than ever. Adaptive data fabric (ADF) is a new data management, access, and value derivation approach for systems and platforms. This chapter establishes the shift from legacy, static data infrastructure to real-time learning and adapting, AI-driven dynamic fabrics. It spotlights the intelligence layer of ADF, such as features like automated discovery, quality assurance, adaptive governance, and predictive analytics. Implementation strategies include legacy, cloud, and edge system integration, and the position of DataOps in maintaining operational performance. Healthcare, finance, and retail use cases demonstrate the real-world application of ADF, with future directions emphasizing ethical, autonomous, and privacy-aware systems.
