Application of Augmented Reality in the Practical Teaching of Electrical Machines and Industrial Control
摘要
The objective of this study was to develop a mobile Augmented Reality (AR) application as a didactic tool for the Electrical Machines and Industrial Control course in the Electronics program at the Instituto Superior Tecnológico Tungurahua, aiming to improve student learning outcomes in virtual mode. Using the Design Thinking methodology, an interactive solution was designed and prototyped that allows students to visualize and manipulate 3D models of electrical components, enhancing their understanding of complex concepts and facilitating autonomous practice. The application development was based on software such as Blender 3D, Unity, and Visual Studio, and it was evaluated through integration and usability testing. As a result, a 6.1% improvement in academic performance was observed in the students who used the tool compared to the group that used traditional methods, demonstrating the effectiveness of AR in distance technical education.
