Redefining Architecture Pedagogy for GenAI-Enhanced Classrooms: Impacts on Student Engagement and Learning Outcomes
摘要
The integration of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) in architecture education presents transformative opportunities for design processes, visualization, and creative problem-solving. GenAI, with its ability to generate design alternatives, automate repetitive tasks, and enhance decision-making, offers a paradigm shift in architectural pedagogy. To fully harness these benefits, architecture education must evolve, embedding GenAI tools strategically to enhance student engagement and optimize learning outcomes. This study investigates the potential of GenAI to redefine teaching methodologies in architecture by analyzing its effects on academic experiences and student achievements. Using a mixed-methods approach that includes survey questionnaire and recently published literature on GenAI, identifies key pedagogical shifts and proposes best practices for integrating GenAI into architecture education. The findings will provide insights into how GenAI can be used as a pedagogical tool to cultivate creativity, improve design efficiency, and enhance critical thinking skills among architecture students.
