The Ramirez Codex, written around 1580, is an Historical text describing several traditions, celebrations, deities, daily life, as well as the narration of relevant historical facts, focused on the Mexicas, one of the groups that have inhabited Central Mexico since at least the XIV century. The text is a relevant source of information for decoding the past of the indigenous population of Central Mexico. Several analyses have been conducted on it, from comparative literature to historical perspectives in order to identify its possible origin and confirm its authorship. Here, we study the Ramirez Codex using natural language processing algorithms with two objectives. The first is to distill the emotions that such text is capable of evoke, both in a computational sentiment analysis system and in a group of people who were asked to read fragments of it. The second goal of this contribution is to clarify whether the Ramirez Codex was written by only one author. Our efforts show that more than one author was involved in the writing of the Ramirez codex.

摘要
