Quantum mechanics is defined by a set of assumptions, axioms, or postulates. These assumptions are not questioned; they are validated by the results we obtain by using them. The postulates presented here are referred to as the Copenhagen Interpretation of Quantum Mechanics, worked out mostly by Niels Bohr, Werner Heisenberg and Max Born.
