Poor construction labour productivity is a universal concern hence an assessment of the implementation of labour management strategies is crucial, if the expected labour productivity is to be realised. Therefore, the study sought to assess labour management strategies for enhancing construction labour productivity in Zimbabwe. The study adopted a quantitative research questionnaire survey approach to obtain data from construction professionals (Site Managers, Contracts Managers and Project Managers) working for all construction companies registered with the Construction Industry Federation of Zimbabwe and based in Harare and Bulawayo. The data was analysed using mean score and severity index. The research findings revealed that labour management strategies are implemented, with the selection of workers being the most implemented. The research findings also revealed several significant challenges are perceived with respect to implementation of labour management strategies with the lack of construction manager leadership skills being most significant. The recommendations from the study include that the construction project managers must play a significant role in maximizing the benefits associated with the labour management strategies for enhancing labour productivity. Recommendations for future studies include a study to assess labourers’ culture and behaviour as they potentially leverage construction efficiency.
