The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated the integration of online modalities in person-centered experiential therapy, necessitating new approaches to both practice and training. This chapter explores the implications of providing person-centered experiential therapy online, focusing on the patient experience, the training of the therapist, and the main theoretical challenges. Despite concerns about the limitations of the digital medium, research suggests that core therapeutic conditions, such as empathy, congruence, and unconditional positive regard, can be effectively maintained online. However, more research is required to understand how patients experience online therapy and adapt training programs accordingly. The study highlights the need for continuous innovation in digital therapeutic practice.
