Internet- and Mobile-Based Psychological Interventions for Sexual Dysfunctions
摘要
Internet- and mobile-based interventions (IMIs) for sexual dysfunctions represent an emerging field, offering accessible, and low-threshold treatment options. These interventions are particularly valuable in addressing sensitive sexual issues, often stigmatized, and underdiagnosed in traditional settings. Grounded primarily in cognitive-behavioral therapy, IMIs incorporate sexual education, sensate focus exercises, relational components, and mindfulness, and can be tailored to specific disorders like erectile dysfunction and female sexual interest/arousal disorder. IMIs for sexual dysfunctions are available in various formats, the most common one being (guided) self-help modules. Evidence suggests that IMIs are effective in improving sexual functioning and satisfaction, particularly for women. Despite high dropout rates, user satisfaction remains promising, indicating IMIs as a viable addition to routine care for sexual health.
