During many years there has been controversy about Russell’s famous note at the end of his “Reply to criticisms” in the Schilpp volume (The Philosophy of Bertrand Rusell), dated on July 1944, according to which he was unable to reply to Gödel’s contribution to the volume. I took advantage of my research stay in the Russell Archives to try to follow the track of Russell’s assertion looking for historical evidence.
