The Roman Catholic Church has a tremendous global influence on health care practice, public policy, and bioethics. This volume collects fourteen essays providing a range of Catholic bioethical perspectives on seven issues of emerging importance. These issues include support for persons with disabilities and care for persons who identify as transgender, ethical concerns related to public health and global health, controversies that arose during the COVID-19 pandemic such as unilateral withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment and vaccination mandates, and the deployment of artificial intelligence in the context of health care.
