The 21st city infrastructure is intertwined, complex and multifunctional and determines citizens’ safety and quality of their lives. This chapter discusses critical infrastructure for citizens survival: water, energy, communication, housing and public infrastructure. It presents the example of smart and resilient infrastructural solutions, threats to this infrastructure, impact of its damage on citizens and management strategies in times of crisis (selected cases).
