As cyber threats grow more advanced, relying solely on security equipment is no longer enough to protect organizations effectively. In this paper, we will discuss the limitations of traditional cybersecurity approaches and emphasize the importance of incorporating continuous monitoring and risk assessment into broader security strategies. Drawing from real-world case studies, we will demonstrate how proactive steps such as regular audits and employee training, can significantly reduce the risk of cyberattacks. While tools like firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and endpoint detection and response (EDR) remain critical, many organizations still experience serious breaches. This leads to an essential question: Can security tools alone keep up with today’s evolving threats? Often, the root cause of breaches lies in vulnerabilities, whether due to outdated software, hardware flaws, or misconfigurations. Security tools can’t fully address these issues without a structured vulnerability management process in place. Our analysis underscores the need to move beyond a tool-based mindset and adopt a comprehensive vulnerability management approach. This shift enables organizations to detect, prioritize, and remediate risks more effectively, resulting in a stronger and more adaptive cybersecurity posture. When done well, vulnerability management closes security gaps before they’re exploited. By encouraging a culture of proactive defense, businesses not only boost their cyber resilience but also set themselves up for long-term success in an increasingly digital landscape.

摘要
