This study investigates novel collagen-based wound dressings incorporating hydroxyapatite (HAp) and basil essential oil (EO) for enhanced wound healing. Three formulations were developed. Enzymatic degradation tests revealed rapid biodegradation profiles suitable for short-term applications. Mechanical testing showed that adding basil EO and increasing HAp concentration significantly increased elastic modulus but decreased compressive strength. This research demonstrates that while bioactive components improve some of the properties, they create a trade-off in mechanical performance. These materials are particularly suitable for acute wounds requiring frequent dressing changes and rapid delivery of bioactive components, contributing to advanced wound care strategies with tailored properties for effective tissue regeneration and infection control.

摘要
