As universities increasingly adopt digital platforms, online education, and personal devices, they have become prime targets for cyberattacks. Cybersecurity involves protocols, rules, and regulations to protect users and institutional data from internet-based threats. This paper explores the factors that affect the cybersecurity intention of students at Caraga State University, Philippines. It utilizes the Theory of Planned Behavior framework and multiple regression analysis to identify relationships between the variables. Results showed that subjective norms and perceived behavioral control affect cybersecurity intention, while attitudes toward cybersecurity do not. The study underscores the importance of encouraging peer-led initiatives, where students advocate for secure online behavior. Moreover, programs should emphasize skill development and equip students to improve cybersecurity practices.
