The challengesAgroecology of our present agriculture and food systems are consequences of the ideologies of our recent past in agriculture. This chapter critically reviews definitions and technologies of what has been considered ‘conventional’ agriculture. We consider the consequences and propose a new paradigm for the second Green Revolution under the school of agroecology: Low-carbon agriculture/climate-smart agriculture.
