This paper examines the convergence of traditional coding, Low-Code/No-Code development, and Generative AI assistants. We review recent trends and studies in traditional coding, highlighting the role of AI code assistants in augmenting developer capabilities. Then, we do a high-level comparison of Low-Code and traditional development. Next, we explore the potential of recent Generative AI assistants for Low-Code/No-Code development (e.g. text-to-app), enabling even greater accessibility and efficiency in software creation. Finally, we discuss how these technologies collectively can transform the future of software development.
