Evolution of a Usability and UX Questionnaire for Touchable Holography from Validation Studies with Experts and End-Users
摘要
Touchable holography solutions (THS) enable natural hand interactions in augmented and mixed reality applications, with significant potential in training, equipment control, and entertainment. Evaluating usability and user experience (UX) is essential to ensure the quality of these applications. The UUXE-ToH questionnaire was initially proposed to fill the gap in technology-specific assessments for THS and underwent a content and face validity study with experts, resulting in the refined UUXE-ToH v2. This article extends the previous work by presenting a new semantic validity study conducted with end users who experienced a THS game. This study aimed to assess the clarity and comprehensibility of the questionnaire from the user’s perspective. Feedback was collected using a supplementary evaluation form and the same qualitative analysis methodology used in the expert study was applied to incorporate user suggestions and critiques. The findings informed the development of UUXE-ToH v3, an enhanced version tailored to the end user’s understanding. This iterative and evidence-based approach contributes to more accurate usability and UX evaluations in the THS context, potentially improving the design and development of THS applications in education, health, and entertainment.
