COVID-19 Pandemic has caused substantial changes to our educational practices and has prompted different stakeholders to consider a wide range of technological affordances in the context of teaching and learning. Within language education, online teaching has become the dominant mode of instruction worldwide during the last 2 years. Online platform integrates different features that facilitate teaching and learning, including feedback tools. While online feedback is not new, its size and scale have considerably increased recently. Researchers have argued that feedback is a critical variable in student learning in general. Feedback serves different functions, such as raising awareness about specific language weaknesses, informing students about their current level, and guiding their future plans. The proposed chapter discusses these benefits within language classes and reviews results of previous research on online feedback modes and effectiveness. The second part of the chapter addresses issues related to planning an online feedback session and tools that could be used in this setting. The chapter also proposes a learning-oriented framework for making the best use of online feedback. The final part provides several guidelines for practitioners that could help in their execution of effective online feedback sessions.
