IoT-Enabled Cradle for Comprehensive Infant Monitoring
摘要
The concept of monitoring and controlling devices remotely has been researched extensively in modern times. The convenience offered by the Internet of Things has translated into increased presence of IoT devices in the health and safety monitoring fields. A cohesive network consisting of smaller devices can function as a singular process-oriented device that performs specific adaptive and context-aware functions. The template set by these trends is particularly useful to monitor an infant via a smart cradle which consists of sensors that collect data on environmental parameters, actuators that influence the environment to create ideal conditions, and microcontrollers that ensure synergy among these components. The tangible elements of the system are backed by software elements based on machine learning and deep learning that, alongside live monitoring, process the data collected in order to provide actionable insights, alerts in case of detected emergencies, and valuable information regarding long-term sleeping patterns and postures of the infant.
