The COVID-19 pandemic is a unique disaster of recent history on its own. It impacted almost every aspect of human life in nearly every corner of the earth. Therefore, the breakthrough of effective vaccination against this virus was something everyone was looking forward to. However, once we had the vaccines, delivering and administering them around the world in the quickest possible time became an unprecedented humanitarian supply chain process. Different countries followed different approaches and structures for these supply chains. Most were successful, but none were perfect; thus, it is crucial for us to examine and learn from these approaches so that we can be better prepared for global humanitarian supply chain crises like this again. By using five unique countries as cases, we have assessed and compiled the best practices to conceptualise a better vaccination supply chain.
