Concluding Remarks and Reflections on the Post-Soviet Situation
摘要
The conclusion chapter brings together the key observations made in this book through analysis of human-animal relations in post-war Soviet Indigenous literatures. It outlines how on the one hand, Indigenous authors point in their works to the settler colonial character of Soviet modernization and industrialization processes, and on the other, how the works resist the colonial eradication of Indigenous cultures and worldviews. After summarizing the main insights of the book, the concluding chapter proposes possible directions that future scholarship on Indigenous literatures from the Russian Arctic could take. Finally, the chapter suggests how the observations presented in the book might enhance understanding of the colonial situation in the post-Soviet Russian Federation today.
