In these years, the dynamic monitoring has been gaining an increasing importance in the seismic assessment of buildings, especially the historical monumental ones, since it provides important information on their mechanical and dynamical properties without producing any alteration. As regards buildings used as expositive Museums, this technique results to be even more convenient, since it allows to have crucial information not only on the dynamic response of the structure, but even on the dynamic properties of the expositive devices and the object of art themselves. Such knowledge gained a special importance for Museums subjected to seismic excitations. The comprehensive knowledge of the dynamic properties of all the components involved in the seismic propagation (soil-building-floors expositive device-artifact), indeed, can indicate the seismic vulnerability of some artifact due to their position within the building and the exhibition device. In this work the dynamic response of some windows used to display pieces of art has been compared to the dynamic response of exhibition buildings, to check the possibility of resonance phenomena on art collections.
