Extended Reality: Measuring 3D Scanning Accuracy of Meta Quest 3
摘要
Rapid technological advances have made many high-tech devices available to the average user. Extended Reality headsets are available for purchase for home use. Due to this, augmented reality technologies find their application in various fields from entertainment to professional use. XR, X Reality, or Extended Reality is a general term that means the technology of visualization and interaction with computer-generated reality [1]. But these systems allow not only to visualize graphics but also to scan the room and create its 3D model to prevent the player from colliding with walls and other obstacles. But the 3D scanning technology in these glasses can be applied in other, more professional fields, such as setting up and paving the way for mobile robotics, production planning, and interior design sketches [2]. This article describes the measurement of the accuracy of room scanning using the Meta Quest 3 mixed reality headset and describes possible improvements and applications.
