Drug–drug interactions (DDIs) in the acute care and chronic pain settings are common and costly. An important subset of DDIs involves those mediated by the cytochrome (CYP) P450 system, a class of enzymes found largely but not exclusively in the liver. The authors review the substrates, inducers, and inhibitors of most important CYP450 enzymes as well as phase I metabolism of common perioperative medications.

摘要

Drug–drug interactions (DDIs) in the acute care and chronic pain settings are common and costly. An important subset of DDIs involves those mediated by the cytochrome (CYP) P450 system, a class of enzymes found largely but not exclusively in the liver. The authors review the substrates, inducers, and inhibitors of most important CYP450 enzymes as well as phase I metabolism of common perioperative medications.
