From former studies on Hidden Champions, Slovenia is recognized as a cradle for small and medium-sized companies that gain substantial market positions locally, regionally, and often globally. In an ongoing effort to explain this phenomenon, the high quality of university studies emerges as a key element, particularly in technological programs such as electronics and computer science. The second crucial element is the excellence of the Jožef Stefan Institute, which covers a broad spectrum of basic and applied sciences. This institute provides students with the space and guidance to explore and apply their knowledge, resulting in many Slovenian hidden champions being startups founded by former trainees or employees of the institute’s technological faculties. The third element is the entrepreneurial courage of individuals who take the initiative and risks to transform their dreams, ideas, and research findings into products that significantly contribute to the success of Slovenian industries and services. The three companies of this research—Qlector, Arctur, and Dewesoft—are exemplary cases that reflect the aforementioned points. These companies not only excel in various technological fields but also inspire with their leadership and entrepreneurship. They offer valuable lessons on the impact of cooperation in creating purposeful knowledge, the power of vision and intuition, the importance of agility, and customer-centric innovation.
