The rapid proliferation of IoT devices has intensified security concerns, requiring urgent attention to data integrity, user privacy, and system reliability. While firewalls serve as essential barriers against threats, a multifaceted security approach is necessary to address vulnerabilities, such as Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks. Enhancing IoT security involves ensuring data integrity and protecting user privacy, especially as many devices are deployed without comprehensive security measures. This study proposes an integrated approach that combines robust firewalls with IDS specifically to mitigate DDoS attacks, utilizing Raspberry Pi as a cost-effective and flexible platform for implementing packet filtering, the research demonstrates the effectiveness of this integration in protecting IoT devices. The solution emphasizes continuous monitoring and real-time optimization to mitigate DDoS attacks effectively. The evaluation results for the combined firewall and IDS solution are promising. The model achieved an impressive accuracy of 98.39%, with precision at 96.93%, ensuring it effectively detects malicious traffic. These findings emphasize the importance of multifaceted security measures for enhancing the resilience and security of IoT environments.
