Authentication using time and distance
摘要
Temporal properties are introduced to express authentication based on recency and distance. The difference between aliveness and recent aliveness is defined, illustrated using minimal examples. Authenticating proximity is also expressed as temporal constraints on the order of events. The distance-bounding properties Mafia fraud and distance hijacking are covered. Exercises provide practice with further examples of authentication and distance-bounding protocols. Relatively new features of tools for expressing such temporal queries are touched on.
