A Patient-Centric Blockchain Based Electronic Health Records for Data Privacy and Confidentiality
摘要
In this era, a smart personal healthcare system is essential to take care of your own health. However, there is a dire need to secure health data because of privacy concerns. Although many such systems are there, most of the systems do not provide efficient results and address some challenges such as privacy issues, low storage capacity, high time consumption, etc. A privacy-preserving system for EHR storage and access is proposed to provide efficient patient-centric healthcare. Our approach integrates blockchain technology, Identity-Based Proxy Re-encryption (IBPRE) and One-Time Pad (OTP) to balance security, privacy and confidentiality. In our scheme, patients control their health data using a decentralized blockchain architecture. Blockchain implicit Certificate Authorities (CA) secure and authenticate registration and keys, while Smart contract (SC) manages EHR access through time-limit data access based on patient consent, reducing risks of unauthorized access. Our model addresses blockchain privacy, low storage capacity and high time consumption issues by storing primary encrypted shares on-chain, reducing storage requirements and costs. This system is designed for patient-centric environments, prioritizing patient consent for every EHR request by the doctor/hospital. Demonstrated the model’s efficiency in preserving privacy, enabling secure data sharing, improving patient empowerment and outcomes.
