Charitable contributions are essential in tackling social, economic, and environmental issues by supplying resources to organizations that assist underprivileged populations, foster education, and enhance healthcare. The survey examines the principal determinants affecting charity contributions, the changing modalities of gifting, and the demographic and psychological characteristics of contributors. The survey also investigates how technology is changing the way people donate to charities. It focuses on the ways that technological advancements like social media, blockchain, crowdfunding platforms, virtual reality (VR), mobile payment systems, behavioral insights, and digital donation applications have changed the way people give to charities. The research examines the influence of these technologies on donor behaviour, transparency, and fundraising efficiency. Crowdfunding platforms have democratized giving by allowing small-scale donations from a varied global audience, whereas blockchain improves transparency and trust by providing auditable and secure donation processes. Furthermore, the significance of social media in boosting fundraising initiatives, as well as mobile FinTech solutions that facilitate seamless donation experiences, is critically analyzed. Virtual reality, which creates immersive donation experiences, and artificial intelligence, which predicts donor behaviour, have both increased the success of humanitarian efforts. This study finds that technology maximizes the efficacy of contemporary donation by helping nonprofits reach a wider audience and fostering donor trust and participation.
