Much research has attempted to study the implementation of blockchain technology in different industries. However, the implementation of technology in healthcare remains low. This study provides insights on Blockchain Technology adoption in the healthcare industry of Malaysia using thematic analysis to extend the UTAUT model. The paper examines key factors from UTAUT model and additional factors relevant to blockchain technology adoptions. A review of previous literature establishes the foundational model. Through preliminary interviews with healthcare professionals, the study acts as an insight which develops a base UTAUT model for blockchain technology adoption by identifying emergent themes and mapping them into the UTAUT framework. The study interviewed five healthcare professionals from various healthcare institution in Malaysia. It summarized that performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions, trust, technology readiness, transparency, security & privacy, perceived cost, complexity, compatibility and top management support are the core factors which impact implementation of blockchain technology in healthcare settings. The findings of the research have contributed to a structural understanding of how blockchain technology can be better integrated into the healthcare system, offering a theoretical foundation for future research.

摘要
