The Three Revelations: 40 Years Later

Mathematics education, as an area of study, expands in various directions including some that steer far from mathematics. However, mathematics remains at the centre of my work as a teacher educator. This chapter describes how my personal experiences in learning and teaching mathematics, as well as teaching teachers of mathematics, enriched my repertoire of problem-solving engagements, inspired task design in teacher education, and triggered the development of new research studies.
