Review of Empirical Studies on FinTech
摘要
Financial technologies have been reshaping the financial industry for several decades, leading to an exponential expansion in academic research on FinTech. This study aims to systematically analyze scholarly works on FinTech that are based on primary data collection methods, including questionnaires and interviews. By employing bibliometric techniques, this paper provides a comprehensive overview of the research landscape, including summary statistics on academic output volume, journals and individual authors productivity, geographical dispersion, and patterns of cross-country collaboration. A total of 264 papers were retrieved from Web of Science database and analyzed employing a bibliometric approach. Thus, this study contributes to both analysis of the evolving FinTech literature and to the methodological framework for bibliometric literature reviews.
