Contemporary Energy Profile of Emerging India
摘要
Renewable sources of energy as well as technologies have the ability to address the persistent energy issues that developing nations confront. With the growing global population, energy consumption is increasing daily, necessitating the switch to alternative energy sources. Renewable energy sources could help India overcome its energy deficit. India will need a guaranteed supply of three to four times as much energy as is currently utilised in order to fulfil the demands of such a rapidly expanding economy. One way to satisfy these criteria is by using renewable energy. The fourth appealing renewable energy industry globally is the Indian sector. The Indian government actively encourages green energy and is working on a number of large-scale sustainable power projects as part of its commitment to increasing the usage of renewable energy sources. In India, renewable energy sources currently account for more than 33% of total energy consumption. India is progressively implementing appropriate renewable energy practices to reduce carbon emissions, clean up the air, and ensure a healthier future. For the past 25 years, India has been actively pursuing research, development, demonstration, manufacture, and implementation of various renewable energy technologies for application across various industries. According to the projected results, the key determinants of renewable energy consumption are carbon emissions, economic expansion, efficiency in energy usage, and renewable energy generation. To promote the usage of renewable energy, this chapter also recommends greater investment in the energy efficiency industry, renewable energy production, and ecologically linked technology innovation. This study has sought to provide an overview of the availability of renewable energy sources in India, their current status, notable achievements, and future prospects. In order to remove the obstacles and improve the future deployment of renewable energy sources, this research also evaluates particular policy initiatives.
