Real-World Applications of Fuzzy Logic: Bridging Human Reasoning and Machine Intelligence
摘要
Fuzzy logic comes up as a revolutionary approach to solve real-life problems through uncertainty, vagueness and imprecision. Unlike conventional binary logic systems, fuzzy logic supports human-like reasoning to create adaptable solutions across diverse applications. This section is concerned with general applications of fuzzy logic in different areas of human endeavour including healthcare, transport, the finance sector, consumer electronics, agriculture and multi-criteria decision-making. In healthcare, fuzzy systems aid in diagnosis, patient monitoring, and drug delivery by handling medical data uncertainties. In the same vein, fuzzy logic enhances traffic management in the sphere of transportation making it more navigable and less congested. In the finance sector, fuzzy systems are employed in risk assessment, credit scoring, and making predictions about stock market situations. Moreover, the functionality of consumer electronics such as smart home appliances and automated systems become more efficient through the application of fuzzy logic. The role of this technology in agriculture encompasses precision farming automation of irrigation processes by farm managers among other stakeholders interested in improving agricultural practices according to specific requirements dictated by land properties as well as market demand patterns. In addition, some real-life examples are discussed within this chapter which include traffic management systems, and healthcare diagnostics, as benchmarks for evaluating how effective fuzzy logic can be in addressing complex issues. Furthermore, this chapter investigates implementation hurdles like computational complexity issues and scalability while hinting at prospects for the future by integrating it with AI and Industry 5. technologies to produce creative solutions that endure.
