This paper studies the utilization of wind power for green hydrogen production with a focus on the Moroccan context as the production of green hydrogen in this country has attracted significant local and international interest. Furthermore, the country boasts extensive experience in large-scale energy and infrastructure projects, including high-speed rail networks, industrial and mining facilities, and ammonia production plants. This positions it as a strong contender for advancing new energy markets. Through an analysis of the different wind potential around the country, this study identifies the areas with the most potential in the country for green hydrogen production and how wind power can be used as a reliable and efficient alternative to traditional energy resources. Throughout this research, an analysis of the different wind patterns across the country as well as the areas with the highest wind potential have been presented. A utilization of mathematical models has also been part of the work in order to establish the relationship between wind and green hydrogen production, allowing to showcase the potential of Morocco in this field and estimating its production of green hydrogen to be of 700.45 tons/year. In addition, a combination of Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping and visualization tools has helped to precisely identify the areas for high potential production of green hydrogen from wind energy throughout the country of Morocco as detailed in the results section. Finally, the study concludes by discussing key findings and acknowledging the research limitations.
