In this concluding chapter, we synthesize the theoretical and empirical insights explored throughout the book to argue for a radical reorientation of how climate and mobility are understood, governed, and narrated. Drawing together themes of justice, narrative power, and epistemic plurality, we reflect on the limitations of existing paradigms and the transformative potential of alternative frameworks rooted in care, solidarity, and planetary responsibility. The conclusion reaffirms the urgency of dismantling dominant imaginaries that naturalize inequality and exclusion, and calls for the cultivation of cross-disciplinary and cross-cultural alliances in pursuit of climate mobility justice. It reaffirms the imperative to defend both people’s rights to remain in place, as well as to move across borders, by insisting on human and more-than-human empathy, relationality, and commonality conducive to a cosmovisional ‘right to breathe’.
